Gulf Air

Gulf Air is the principal flag carrier of Bahrain. Gulf Air is headquartered in Muharraq, and adjacent to Bahrain International Airport. Gulf Air operates scheduled services to 42 destinations in 23 countries across Africa, Asia and Europe. Its main base is at Bahrain International Airport.

Origins and Ownership

British pilot and entrepreneur: Freddie Bosworth began an air taxi service in the late 1940’s, with destinations from Doha, Dhahran, and Bahrain. On March 24 1940, Bosworth expanded its service and registered a Gulf Aviation Company Limited as a private shareholding company. This is the birth of Gulf Air, one of the oldest carriers in the Middle East.

Gulf Air CEOMaher Salman Al Musallam, is the current CEO of Gulf Air. He joined Gulf Air as the Deputy CEO after completing his 35 year career with the royal Bahraini Air Force, where he was designated and held a number of high-ranking-positions, such as: Squadron Commander and Wing Commander where he was responsible for the daily management and emergency deployment of ten operational units; including flying, maintenance, logistics and administration.

What people are saying

Several positive reviews coming from Gulf Air’s passengers were posted throughout the internet, giving the airline an impression of convenience and efficiency. Here are some of these reviews.

Gulf Air Interior

I flew from London Heathrow to Delhi on the 7th of august via GULF AIR.The flight was cheap to the pocket and well on time with excellent seating arrangements supported by smart and professional aircrew!, who were always there to help. Transfer was easy and quick .Food was good and hot accompanied by a vast range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks all throughout the flight! Please try the airlines ,you’ll love it!!”

Gulf Air Food

“We use Gulf Air minimum 6 times a year and we have never ever had anything but excellent professional friendly service – they rock the skies, business class even on the short haul from BAH – LCA is exceptional- the food is really good and that’s saying something because airline food is never that good but theirs is! I can’t fully Gulf Air for anything, if I had to find a downfall, it would be that they don’t have enough routes in Canada – if they went to more places in Canada we would never have to fly different airlines ever! The staff are the ones that deserves the biggest pat on the back – no other airline we fly with ever has the smiles and cheery disposition of the Gulf Air staff (and thats saying something because we put on some major frequent flyer miles all over the world as Canadian expats living in Saudi Arabia)”

Gulf Air

“I took this flight in 2010 and it was actually really good. It was cheap as compared to other airlines. The service and food was really good and was above average i would say. The seats were not so spacious though and their entertainment is just average. Overall a value for money.”

With their cheap deals, friendly staffs and fast yet smooth and convenient flight; there is no doubt why passengers kept on boarding Gulf Air. Accommodating every passenger and assisting them towards their concerns, and ensuring them to have a safe, smooth and fast flight. I think that’s where airlines should focus, in order to serve their passengers the best service; and I think Gulf Air is making a good job with this.
